Great Western Beach

There are many beaches along the Newquay coastline, with the most famous being Fistral Beach, attracting thousands of surfers each year. There is however, a quieter, more subdued beach know as Great Western Beach. This beach is perfect for learning to surf on, especially seeing as it is lifeguarded throughout the summer months, making it extremely safe. This is where Reef Surf School is settled, providing quality surf instruction for people of absolutely all ages. This beach is perfect for beginners looking to learn how to surf. In the morning, the tide is out and the waves relatively small, providing perfect conditions to those who are beginners.

In the afternoon there is the chance to put into practice what you have learnt in the morning with the tide coming in, and the waves increasing significantly in size, giving better surfing conditions and more fun all round. Besides surfing, there is also a designated area for body-boarding, so if surfing isn't for you, there is still the opportunity to try something new if you've never done so before. As well as watersports, you can try your hand at some beach volleyball, with courts available for hire to the public during the day!
